BUILDINGS ASSOCIATED WITH FREEMASONS IN GREATER VICTORIA
18-26 Bastion Square was built in 1888 for hotelier Thomas Burnes. It was designed and built by architect John Teague, a member of Victoria-Columbia Lodge No. 1.
In its day, this building was one of Victoria’s best hotels. It backed onto another hotel Thomas Burnes owned on Yates Street, on the present site of the Pither & Leiser Building at 535 Yates Street.
